Prototype Issues


Since this is a prototype, I posted this game with a lot of known issues. In an effort to be upfront with any potential players I just want to lay out some of the things I know aren't working right or things that I would like to implement:

  • Health Bar does not track your damage: There is a working health system in place but I couldn't figure out a way to have the hearts update to reflect the player's current damage. I'm sure there's an easy way to get this to work but my lack of experience definitely shows on this point.
  • Certain Quest triggers: All the triggers SHOULD work but they kind of trigger automatically most of the time when I wanted them to be button presses. I spent A LOT of time trying to fix this and got nowhere but extremely frustrated.
  • Grossry Store Boss: Yes, I know I spelled "Grocery" wrong. It's on purpose. Anyway, the 3rd mixtape is supposed to be INSIDE the grocery store and you need to avoid the attacks of giant foot monster to get it. I really wanted it in there but haven't implemented it yet.
  • No ending!: I still need to add a credits or final scene after you kill the final boss. I also need his attacks to actually HURT the player. 
  • Weird flicker: I honestly have no idea why this happens. It's really noticeable in the 3rd dimension but you get tons of lines popping up and it's annoying and I have no idea what I did in Unity to make this happen. 

I have great, grand ideas for DJ Adam's Interdimensional Mixtape 2019 but I know I need to just get a whole lot better as a developer before I can turn it into that game. But I think this prototype gets the main feeling and idea of the game across and that was my ultimate goal here. I will hopefully be able to work on some of the prototype issues in the future just to make it a smoother experience.
